What you do,in practice

  1. Drive safety

Risk assessment, single risk assessment document, prevention plans, work permits and lockout procedures. You analyse accidents and near misses and you genuinely close the actions.

  2. Maintain ICPE compliance

Operating authorisation, periodic inspections, emissions monitoring, relations with the inspectorate.

  3. Bring the safety culture to life

Day to day, with the shift teams who run the site: present in the control room and the boiler house, you persuade through expertise and presence, more than through hierarchy.

  4. Own the interface with the food plant

The client site's hygiene and food safety rules, co-activity with the factory, and the quality of what the site supplies to it.

  5. Manage co-activity

Shutdowns and outside contractors: prevention plans, permits, monitoring of interventions.

  6. Build the QHSE system

Procedures, instructions, indicators, audits, certification preparation. Not everything is bedded in yet: what you put in place will last.

The context

The role,unfiltered

The context, what draws a strong profile and the real challenges, written as they are.

Biomass comes in, burns in the new boiler, and its steam goes to the food factory: you own the site's QHSE.

04 · The organisation

Your place

A clear place,at the right level

You are the site's QHSE, reporting to the site director, and you are not alone: the national safety leads and a community of QHSE peers support you. On site, you are the expert: you bring the rules to life with the people who run the installation.

We tell you frankly

The site runs 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and your role is a day job: on-call duty, depending on the site's organisation. The only QHSE on site, never isolated: a community of QHSE peers and national safety leads support you. Above all an expert role: your authority comes from your presence in the field, and management is not a closed door. Not everything is bedded in yet: instructions and procedures remain to be written while the site keeps running.

05 · Your first months

What we expect of you

Your first months,step by step

  1. Day 0 to day 60

Get to know the site and its risks

Every shift team seen at work. The food site met. QHSE baseline established.

  2. Day 60 to day 120

    Get everything squared away

Single risk assessment document, prevention plans and permits up to date, ICPE compliance checked, priorities shared with management.

  3. Day 120 to month 12

    Make it stick

Indicators tracked and explained, audits carried out, technical shutdown supported, safety culture visible in the field.
