What you do,in practice
Roll out the safety organisation
Clarify who does what on regulatory inspections, bring out an individual and collective safety culture, debrief practical exercises and run lessons-learned sessions. The expectation is that the rules hold without you.
Guarantee compliance with the operating authorisation
You uphold compliance with the order alongside the director and you are the authorities' direct contact. The site is closely monitored: a deviation shows.
Run the integrated management system
Quality, environment, safety and energy certifications (ISO 9001, 14001, 45001 and 50001), with a target of zero non-conformities and an action plan in case of deviation. Audits are expected to be prepared, not endured.
Monitor the processes
Yield and energy-efficiency indicators, deviation analysis using Pareto and root causes. You are expected to challenge the figures with the operations teams.
Support operations
Make production more reliable alongside the operations manager, oversee the CMMS, document management and regulatory watch, manage the maintenance and inspection budgets.
Be the site's interface
Daily work with operations, maintenance, contractors and the site's customers. You represent the site during audits and inspections, and you win the trust of teams that need clear reference points.

We tell you frankly
You take over a scope the teams already know, and you have to earn your place. You get requirements adopted by experienced teams who do not always want them, without putting their backs up. Management wants to raise the level of requirement for the long term: the site is closely watched by the authorities, the audits and management. The installation runs continuously, it does not forgive unplanned shutdowns, and this is a field role, with no remote working.
